Our curriculum is a mix of multiple educational theories to shape your child’s educational journey and instil a lifelong love for learning and exploring in their hearts. Inspired by EYLF, we believe that as our children grow and interact with the world, they nurture their interests and construct their own identity by expressing their personality and uniqueness - the same ideology is thus reflected across our environment. Collaborative Learning
Botany Bay Pre-School’s belief in collaborative learning is reflected across each aspect of the curriculum. We have created an unparalleled learning environment that ignites the creative streak of our next generation all while encouraging them to connect, communicate, and collaborate with the people around them. The goal of our curriculum is to build a strong sense of identity and well-being among children by making them confident and involved lifelong learners. We encourage each child to openly express their interest and opinion, take initiative, and participate as active learners both individually and in group settings. With this approach, our educators actively create opportunities for children to engage in worthy interactions and collective problem-solving.
Experiences
More than anything, we believe in the power of experiences. Experiences are what transform our little ones into confident individuals with effective cognitive, physical, social, and emotional skills. Our curriculum goes beyond the traditional teaching style and adopts an experiential learning approach to engage the senses and ignite curiosity in our next generation. Following the essence of our curriculum, our indoor and outdoor learning spaces facilitate an immersive environment with a range of interactive activities including experiments, role-playing, building with blocks, construction, literacy and numeracy experiences, creative art, sensory exploration, and the like.
Communication
Communication is at the heart of our curriculum at Botany Bay Pre-School. We recognize the important role of communication in nurturing young minds, building meaningful relationships, and supporting early learning. Our curriculum provides the foundation for developing effective communication skills in your child through engaging in peer-to-peer discussions, group projects, and conversations. Our learning centre reflects a language-rich environment, encouraging children to express, actively listen, and engage in respectful dialogue.
We also focus on establishing open lines of communication with the families in our neighbourhood. Our curriculum is designed to ensure parental involvement at each stage of a child's development. Parents are always up-to-date about the progress of their child through our documentation initiatives such as the daily diary, favourite thing web, our Talking/thinking project book, the Children’s portfolios, and wall display. By maintaining effective communication, we foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment where both parties, the child and their parents, are valued and heard!
